On September 23, 2025, our "Paw", Woodrow C. Williamson peacefully passed surrounded by his loving family and brothers and sisters in Christ.

In his last day, Paw spoke words that will stay with us forever, "I see the scriptures and how it all comes together". We believe he was showing us that his faith was complete, that the pieces of his journey - scriptures, struggles, and hospital stays - all came together in peace and purpose. Those last words were his precious gift to us, his family, that he was ready and that nothing was left undone and was beginning his journey home. For his family those words are a gift that Paw saw the hand of God gathering all things together and leading him safely into eternity.

Paw was born on May 4, 1942, in Wayne, WV, to the late Jesse and Martha Hall Williamson. Paw proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War and was a true veteran. Upon returning home, he worked as a coal mine foreman for 47 years. Paw had been a resident of Bluewell, WV, for over 50 years and attended Cliffield Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Mercer County VFW and Mine Rescue.

Paw was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesse and Martha Williamson, sister, Jan Maynard, brother, Wendell Williamson, son, Martin Williamson, and grandson, Martin Williamson, Jr.

Those left to cherish Paw's memory are his loving wife who was always by his side, Linda Williamson; daughters, Debbie McComas, Missy Thornton and husband Steve, Gail Lambert and husband Boone, Tabby Billings and husband Kenny, and Cyndi Blevins and husband Jody; brother, Jesse "Jeck" Williamson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he loved dearly; and special brother in Christ, Mike Wade, who loved Paw and helped care for him.

More than anything Paw loved his family. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Paw cherished his special time with his grandson Jacob, fishing and telling fishing stories, granddaughters, Jessica and Abby, which gave him great joy with two great granddaughters, Char Char and Millie, and granddaughter Stormy, who Paw loved camping with. Paw looked forward to his many card games with his grandson, sons in law, and grandsons in law.

Although our hearts ache we hold onto the peace and comfort Paw found and will carry Paw's words with us until we see him again.
