Willis Lee Altizer

Sgt. (Retired) Willis Lee Altizer, 81, of Springville, VA went to be with his Heavenly Father on the Wings of Angels at Roanoke Memorial Hospital Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Born May 29, 1941 in Warriormine, WV to Frank and Oakey Altizer. He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant sons. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia, sons Toney (Becky) of Bluefield, VA and Donald (Amy) of Bristol, VA; daughter Crystal Rhea (Jay) of Bluefield, WV; brothers, Arnold Honaker (Linda) of AL, Douglas Wallace of AL, and Brian Hamm of KY; sisters, Martha Hagerman (Herman) of Tazewell, VA, Linda Ellis of SC, and Alice Davis of Bluefield, VA. Four grandchildren, Josh and Sabrina Altizer of Bluefield, VA and Evan Boyd and Haleigh Browning both of Bristol, VA. Two great-granddaughters, Waylon and Maddie Altizer as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating where the Mercer County Veteran Honor Guard will perform full military rites. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
