William Stewart Stamper, Jr.

William Stewart Stamper, Jr., 63, of Bluefield, WV passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home. Born July 12, 1960 in Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late William Stewart Stamper, Sr. and Ellen Hummer Stamper. Before coming to Bluefield, he had resided in McDowell County for 48 years. He was in maintenance for Elkhorn Public Service. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Stamper, Earl Stamper, and Robbie Stamper; sister, Judy Howington; and sister-in-laws, Joyce Stamper and Sandy Stamper.

Those left to cherish William’s memory are his wife, Rosa Stamper of the home; daughter, Elizabeth Williams and husband, Kenneth; step-mother, Kathy Holiday Stamper; brothers, Scott Stamper and Shay Stamper and wife, Danaze Greer Stamper; sister, Debbie Middleton; one granddaughter, Reagan Williams and one grandson due in September. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews. 

In keeping with William’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held July 28th, at 1pm at Long Point Baptist Church (Spencer Curve Bottom).  Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the family.
