Warren Phillip Perdue, at age 86, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA. Born on April 25, 1940, he was a resident of Bluefield, WV most of his life where he worked as a coal miner and in construction before moving to Tazewell, VA when he retired. Warren lived a life dedicated to faith and family. His journey was marked by resilience and a steadfast devotion to those he loved.
Warren’s found joy in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his son Kenneth Perdue and wife Tina, his granddaughter Hailey Hurley, and his great-grandson Logan Scott. Warren’s wisdom, warmth, and unwavering support enriched their lives, providing guidance, love, and cherished memories.
Warren was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet Perdue; his father Zollie Perdue and mother Lucy Perdue; sons, Warren Brian Perdue and Kevin Wayne Perdue; his brothers Vernon, Ray, Robert, Albert, and Zollie Perdue; and his sisters Roxy Mae Perdue, Virginia Lockhart, Clara Farmer, and Veda Lockhart. Their presence shaped his path and continued to live on in his stories.
A long-time and active member of Lorton Lick Baptist Church, Warren’s faith was anchor of his life. He drew strength and fulfillment from his involvement with his church family, offering his time and heart in service to others and the community. This connection to his church was a source of joy and meaning that endured throughout his years.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Warren are invited to pay their respects during the public visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, located at 3431 Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, WV 24701. A funeral service in honor of Warren and the life he lived will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. at the same location with Rev. Shawn Bragg officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Craven-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Perdue family.
