Vera Louise Grose Morris

Vera Louise Grose Morris, 100, of Narrows, VA, formally of Rocky Gap, VA, passed Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her home. 

Born November 20, 1924, in Crumpler, WV, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sadie Lambert Grose. Vera was a dedicated lifelong homemaker for her husband and children. She was a resident of Rocky Gap, VA, and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. 

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Morris; sons, Jerry, Russell, and Frank Morris; grandson, Jerry Lee Morris; and granddaughter, Priscilla Durham. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ethel Thorne and husband Robert, of Lerona, WV; sons, Luther Morris and wife Caroline of Bluewell, WV, and Randall Morris, of Bluewell, WV; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. Steve Poore officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Friends may call two hours prior to services, from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
