Vaylee Oliver

Vaylee Oliver, 83, of Pettry Hill Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 4, 1938 in Skygusty, she was a daughter of the late Garnie and Barbara Casey Miller. She was of the Baptist faith and was the former co-owner of Mac’s Drive-In in Keystone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mac Oliver, Sr.; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Vell Church and John T. Church, Jr.; a son in law, John T. Church, Sr.; siblings, Verda Mae Miller, Joyce Vel Sargent, Watson Miller, Tommy Rash Miller, Joseph Miller; and sister in law, Anita Pickett.

Survivors include her daughter, Katrina (Larry) Spangler of Princeton; sons, Kristopher Church of Bluefield, Joseph (Karen) Miller of Spencer Curve, James Mac (Connie) Oliver, Jr of Bluefield, and Jessie (Lisa) Miller of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren, Kathy Jo (Carl) Hazzard, Jadon Hale, Nicholas Karshner, Casey Oliver, Andrew Miller, Hunter Rakes, Gabriel Guijosa, Melanie Spangler, Ethan Church, and Brandi Miller; several great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Blevins of Chicago, IL, Valerie Dooley of Princeton, Patsy (Joe) Sexton of PA,  Myrtle (Randy) Bailey of Bluefield, Margaret (Gerry) Brown of Akron, OH, Bonnie (Earl) Howington of Hopewell, VA, and Marlene (Skeeter) Farris of Princeton, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Olen Robertson and Minister Marlene Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Kristopher Church, Nicholas Karshner, Jadon Hale, Michael Williams, Carl Hazzard, and Sam Hazzard will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
