Tracy D Keys, 97, of Chesterland, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home April 16, 2023. Born January 8, 1926 in Lashmeet, West Virginia. He was the son of William Osco Keys and Nellie Mae Archer Keys. A WWII veteran he served in the United States Army. He lived in Ohio for over 70 years with his loving wife Anne Kelley Keys, married on June 30, 1950 for 72 years. Tracy (Pete) retired from Tapco TRW division in Euclid, Ohio. He enjoyed working after his retirement at Shaker Heights Country Club. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and played on the local horseshoe team in Chester until 93 yrs old. He enjoyed doing woodwork, gardening, and photography. He was a gentle soul who delighted in children and all creatures great and small.
He was a member of Willow Hill Baptist Church in Willoughby, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Grace Keys.
Left to cherish Tracy’s memory are his wife Anne, son David L Keys of Madison, Ohio, daughter Lisa G Keys of Wilmington, Ohio, grandchildren Kelly L. Grogan of Wilmington, Evan D Barrett of Hillsboro, Ohio. Great grandson Tannor Loos. Step Grandchildren Theresa Szalay Becker, Michael Becker, Step grandchildren Sagan Becker, Darwin Becker, Brian Becker and brother Frank Keys (Shirley) of Beckley WV, sister-in-law Jean Keys of Bluefield WV, brother in-law Ryan Lawrence of Rock WV and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Ryan Lawrence officiating. Interment to Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call prior to services on Friday, from 1:00-2:00 PM.
