Timothy Carter Lanter

Timothy Carter Lanter, 79, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born August 14, 1947 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Emmett and Tilda Dunford Lanter. In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by two brothers. Timothy was a retired coal miner of 46 years, having last worked for XMV Mine in Gary, WV in 2014. He will be remembered as a very hard worker who would do anything for anyone.

Those left to cherish Timothy's memory are his loving wife, Judy Mullins Lanter of the home; children, Tiffany Palmer and husband, Chris of Princeton, WV, Emmett Lanter and wife, Diane of Montcalm, WV, Steven Lanter and wife, Melissa of Montcalm, WV, Timothy Lanter, Jr. and wife, Cassandra of Princeton, WV, Linda Lanter Johnson and husband, Darrell of Princeton, WV, and Brenda Lanter Kennedy and husband, Billy of Princeton, WV; brother, Ralph Lanter and wife Carol of Tennessee; sisters, Dolores Bowling of Ohio, and Joyce Patterson of Missouri; grandchildren, Trenton McIntyre and Zoe Palmer and a host of others; special niece, Mindy Craft and husband, Roger; great-nephew, Andrew Tessner; great-niece, Chloe Craft;.

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2026 at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Eulogist David Watkins officiating. Pallbearers will be friends and family. There will be no public visitation. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
