Tammy Aileen Cox

Tammy Aileen Cox (Boyd), 62, of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026. She was born on July 31, 1964, and was a graduate of Bramwell High School, Class of 1982. Tammy was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, her enjoyment of cooking and trying new recipes, and the way she was always cracking jokes in some way, bringing laughter wherever she went. She had a bright, quick-witted sense of humor and a natural gift for making people laugh, often turning ordinary moments into something memorable with her jokes, playful teasing, and warm smile. Her time in the kitchen was one of the ways she expressed her love. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Scott, and her grandmother, Aileen “Judy” Asbury. 

Tammy is survived by her son, Brian Cox and his partner, Emily; her grandsons, Joe and Ian, all of Stokesdale, North Carolina; her mother, Wanda Spradlin of Bluefield, West Virginia; her sisters, Connie Martin (Tim) of Bluefield, West Virginia, Anita Brewster (CL) of Bluefield, Virginia, and Eva Johnson (Timmy) of Bluefield, West Virginia; and her brother, Doug Boyd of Bluefield, West Virginia. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart and will cherish her memory dearly. 

Tammy’s family will receive friends for a viewing at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., with services immediately following with Rev. Larry Ramey officiating. Those who knew and loved Tammy will carry her memory in their hearts and cherish the moments shared with her.
