Susan Beth Tucker, 78, of New Port Ritchie, FL, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Gulfside Hospital Hospice. Born April 23, 1947 in Brooklin, New York, she was a daughter of the late Seymour Tucker and Evelyn Rich. Susan received her A.B. degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University. She was a police Sargent who was one of the first responders during the 9-11 attacks in New York. Susan had attended the AMC Church in New Jersey and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Teamsters Union #237. Susan was very charismatic who was devoted to her family, friends, and her career. She never saw hate in anyone and never despised anyone. Susan was a person who, in many ways, touched people from all parts of the world. She was a volunteer for the Children's Home at Easter and she dearly loved Golden Retrievers.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Seth Tucker.
Those left to cherish Susan's memory are her wife, Dotsy (Dee) Kidd Tucker of the home; son, Steven Snyder and wife, Allison of New Jersey; daughters, Stacy Melvin and husband, Eric of Easton, PA, and Cristy Melvin of St. Claire, PA; brother, Mace Tucker of Arizona; sister, Sari Tucker and husband, Cash of Long Island, NY; three grandchildren, Brian, Benjamin, and Cody; special friends, Estelle Snyder of NY, Jolianna Tucker of New Jersey, and Rosemary and the Tobia family of Brooklyn, NY.
Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Travis Bates, Zack Dotson, and friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
