On Wednesday, August 16, the music faded with the passing of Steve Lambert. Steve was born on January 31, 1975 in Bluefield to Steve and Debra Lambert. He was a graduate of Montcalm High School. He was preceeded in death by his father, Steven A. Lambert, Sr., and several beloved aunts/uncles. In addition to his mother he leaves behind his wife of 29 years and high school sweetheart, Melanie Nester Lambert, daughters Kyndall and Maliah Lambert, sister Susan Lambert of Laurel, Maryland, niece Desiree Smith who he loved as his own daughter, in-laws Darrell and Dana Nester, sister and brother and law Leslie and Shawn Nichols, special brother in law Lee Nester, neice Madison Nichols, nephews Kelsey and Ethan Nichols and Braxton Hampton, all of Bluefield, and Elijah Nester. Steve is also survived by special lifelong friends Jason Call, Brian Tabor, Steve and Terry Minnix, Spike Roop, and many others. He was very loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Even in the darkest moments Steve loved his family more than anything. Anyone that talked to him probably heard him often say how much he loved his family. He was very proud of his girls and loved them immensely. Next to family and friends, Steve loved music above all. Starting with hair metal bands in his youth then playing with his first band Necroplis, music was always a huge part of his life. Music was both a comfort and a passion for Steve. Although he had not played much in recent years, he was a huge supporter of local, national, as well as international bands and artists. His music knowledge was astounding, and spanned multiple genres. When he was able, he would attend local shows, and was usually one of the first people in front of the stage. He was rarely seen out in public not without some type of band shirt or hat. He supported and loved the music that he listened to, as well as the artists that made it. He will be missed by many on the local metal music scene.
