Shirley Ann Hatfield Presley, 83, entered the heavenly arms of Christ, her loving Savior, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Shirley passed away peacefully at her home in Anawalt, WV surrounded by family and close friends.

Shirley was born on September 5, 1943, to Gladys Trivett and Robert Roy Hatfield in the Blackwolf region of McDowell County, WV. Shirley was proud to be a lifelong resident of McDowell County, WV and proud of her Hatfield heritage.

Shirley married the love of her life, the late Robert Earl Presley, on July 25, 1963. Shirley was a homemaker and took great pleasure in raising the couple’s 4 children, and later, a few grandchildren. Shirley never met a stranger and welcomed everyone she encountered. Shirley would frequently spend her days sitting on her porch enjoying watching the cars pass and waving to all. She especially enjoyed watching the neighboring children play.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Presley, grandson, Eric Presley, and 3 sisters, Virginia “Tootie” Farmer, Rebecca Irene Thompson, and Delphia Dean.

Those left to cherish her memory and to continue to share the story of her life are, Robert E. Presley, Jr. of the home, Rebecca “Becky” Lewis (Billy) of Anawalt, WV, James “Jamie” Presley (Patti) of Max Meadows, VA., and Tammy Presley (Robert Greene) of Anawalt, WV. Shirley is also survived by 2 sisters – Diane Bailey of Welch, WV, and Jessie Finley, and a brother, Roy Hatfield. Grandsons, Brian Presley of McDowell Co. WV, William “Willy” Flake (Laura) of McDowell Co. WV. Granddaughters, Brittany Sadler of McDowell Co. WV, Paige Presley of Philadelphia, PA; Halea Fowler of Cary, NC, Rebecca Smith of Greenville, SC, and Tamara Mitchell of McDowell Co. WV., and special brother-in-law, Alan Keith Presley of Bluewell, WV. Additionally, Shirley is survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends.

In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no formal services, and she is to be cremated and buried beside her husband. Craven-Shires in Bluewell, WV is servicing the family.

The family also wishes to express their gratitude to for the care and compassion provided by the staff and nurses at Compassus Hospice in Princeton, WV during Shirley’s final days.
