On March 1, 2022, at the age of 85, Shirley Williams Coe-Blush passed away peacefully at Mercer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Shirley was born on May 16, 1936, to the late Maxwell and Birdie Elizabeth Williams of Jenkin Jones, West Virginia. She graduated from Bluefield State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a schoolteacher in West Virginia and Tazewell County, Virginia for many years prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother Birdie Elizabeth Williams; Father Maxwell Williams; sisters Lila Williams, Mildred Spenser, Dorothy Jones, Francine Mitchem, and Eula Farmer; and daughter Patricia Johnson. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and spouse Libby (Marjorie) and Timothy Corner of Anawalt, WV; grandchildren, spouses and great-grandchildren, Chad and Melissa McCoy and Joslyn DeWeese of Elkins, WV; Timothy, (“T”), Missy, Kirsten, Alyssa, and Brooklyn Corner of Princeton, WV; Tammy and Rileigh Corner of Anawalt, WV; James, Stephanie, McKenzie, and McKailyn of Bluefield Virginia, and Dustin, Elizabeth, Beverly, Makayla, and Dakota Garrett of Hickory, NC. Visitation will be held for family and friends, Friday, March 4, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral will immediately follow at Craven Shires in Bluewell, WV. The reverends James Coe, Don Farmer, Jr, and Mary Lambert will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, WV.
