Scarlett Barker

Scarlett Taylor Barker, 76, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.  Born July 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. and Ella Gray Hodge Taylor.  Scarlett was a housewife and a member of the Brushfork Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Barker, Sr.; two sons, Robert Harold Barker, Jr., and Timothy Lee Barker; and one grandson, Gary Dalton.

Those left to cherish Scarlett’s memory are her sons, Kevin (Karen) Barker of Bluefield, WV, Keith (Kathy) Barker  of Bluefield, WV, Robert (Jessie) Barker, III of Rock, WV, and Charles (Missy) Barker of Princeton, WV; daughters, Beulah Ann (Donnie) Dalton of Bland, VA, and Alisa (Glenn) Morrow of Cherryville, NC; brother, Anthony Taylor of Montcalm, WV; sister, Mexie (Carl) Horton of Bastian, VA; grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia), Caleb, Caitlin, Charles (Morgan), Frank (Britney), Candace, Daniel, Patrick, Abigail, Chris, MacKenzi, Levi, Kiara, Lilly, Peyton, Carmella, Jeremiah, Matthew (Brandi), Heather, Cody (Candice), Breanna (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Anna, Amy, Jacob, Leah, Hailey, Landon, Riley, Aria, Nolan, Harlow, Scarlett, Fletcher, Davina, Nakoa, Hailey, Jeremy, Hailey, Axle, Jayden and Jordyn, and Charity and Brody. Sister-in-laws, Elloise Taylor of Montcalm, WV, Evelyn Barker of Missouri, Phyllis Barker of Princeton, WV, and Greer Ortiz of Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Pennington officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
