Sandra Jean “Sandy” Cochran, 77, of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born on April 24, 1949, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sara Dinger.
As a lifelong resident of Bluefield, Sandy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a unit secretary for long-term care and home health agencies. She loved her family unconditionally and took great pride in her cherished roles as wife, Mom, and Mamaw.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edward “Eddie” Cochran.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Edward “Brian” Cochran and wife Lana of Bluefield, West Virginia; Robin Gibson and husband Kyle of Grahams Forge, Virginia; and Kevin Cochran and Daffeney Tibbs of Bluefield, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Key and husband Matthew, Kristen Flack and husband DJ, Tyler White and wife Mariah, Ashley Cochran, Laiken Gibson, Lauren Brewster and husband John, Taylor Tibbs and wife Kiersten, and Sam Tibbs; great-grandchildren Cayden and Zander Key, Kelsi and Kanon Cochran-Flack, Braxten and Luka White, and Tatum Tibbs; brothers Donnie Dinger and wife Connie, Mike Dinger and wife Cindy, and Jerry Dinger; sister Ronda Dinger; and sisters-in-law Cola Honaker, Jenny Meade, and Betty Kade and husband Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and the service will follow, at 4:00 p.m. at Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia, with Ministers Brian Cochran and Donnie Dinger officiating.
Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on June 1, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends wishing to attend the burial are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. for procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler White, Chris Dinger, Matthew Key, DJ Flack, Taylor Tibbs, Sam Tibbs, and John Brewster. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
The family extends much appreciation to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff of Glenwood Healthcare Center for their compassionate care. The family also expresses deep gratitude to Craven-Shires Funeral Home for their compassionate care, professional guidance, and exceptional dedication during this time of loss.
