Roy Lee Blackburn

Roy Lee Blackburn 84, of Tazewell, Va. retire coalminer and truck driver.  Gained his angel wings on July 10, 2025 at Tazewell Community Hospital. Born July 9, 1941, in Panther, WV. He was the son of Dewey and Margaret Blackburn. He was a loving father, grandfather. He loved fishing and working on cars. He was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol Jean Blackburn and his great great granddaughter Summer Raine Harold. 

Left to cherish his memory 4 daughters: Brenda Tabor of Salisbury, NC, Barbara Harold of Harmony, NC, Connie Ratliff of Lexington, Va, Patty Hall and husband Joe Hall of Bluewell, WV. One son Ricky Blackburn and wife Hope of Richlands, Va. He has 15 grandkids, 20 great grandkids, and two great great grandkids.

His wishes were to be cremated; there will not be any funeral services due to his wishes: We will have a gathering with family and friends to celebrate his life.
