Ronald Lee Sharrock, 87, of Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2026, at Princeton Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family and wife Juanita Witt Sharrock.
He was a dedicated, loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Ron was born on January 10, 1939, in Welch, W.V. He was a graduate of the 1956 class from Northfork Elkhorn High School. He attended Northern Virginia Community College in 1958 graduating Summa Cum Laude. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force, graduated first in his class, and served for 4 years before his honorable discharge. Following his military service, he worked for and retired from United Press International in Washington, D.C. as a telecommunications specialist. He was an active member of the Moose and American Legion. He returned to WV with his wife in 2001, where he resided until his death. He faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Bluewell. Ron will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his service to his country, and his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Brown Sharrock Brammer, his father, Nathan Sharrock, his stepfather, Ed Brammer; his mother-in-law, Bernice Craft Witt, sister-in-law, Gail Witt, and brother-in-law, James Gallinger.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Juanita Witt Sharrock; brother Donald Sharrock and wife Janie, sister Donna Brammer; sisters-in-law, Jole Thompson, Judy Louthen, Betty Reed, Janet Gallinger, Shirley Witt; brothers-in-law, Billy Witt, Jimmy Witt, Grover Thompson, Ronnie Louthen, Gerald Reed; a special niece and caregiver Christina Davidson; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Ron is also survived by his precious dog and fur baby, Pumpkin.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00am at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV, with Pastor James Milam officiating. Friends may call prior to services from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, WV, where military honors will be performed. Pallbearers are Ronnie Louthen, Grover Thompson, Edward Louthen, Mark Gallinger, Brian Gallinger, Curtis Witt, and Chad Davidson.
