Princeton – Robert “Bob” Vendel Valach, age 77, of Princeton, WV completed his journey here on Earth to meet with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, January 8, 2024.
Born on October 9, 1946, in Pageton, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph Lewis Valach and Lois Calfee Valach. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two sons Joshua and Steven Valach and one grandson Jayden Valach.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam during his years of service. Bob worked as a coal miner and was a member of the UMWA. In addition, he worked for Patsy Trucking and M.D. Trucking Company as a truck driver, in McDowell County.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was married to the love of his life Mary Dallas Valach for 55 years. He enjoyed horseback riding, drag racing, coon hunting, going to shooting matches with his friends, and reminiscing on the phone with his friends and family from McDowell County. Bob’s greatest love was his family, and his favorite past time was spending endless hours talking to his grandkids, treasuring every moment with each one of them. He was of Protestant Faith.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Mary Valach; one son, Joseph Valach and wife Kristi of Nemours, WV; three daughters, Suzzette Dellinger and husband Jarod of Princeton, WV; America Dunn and husband Keith of Princeton, WV; Charity Bishop and husband Daniel of Princeton, WV; six grandchildren, Kaleb Dunn, Trey Valach, Abrianna Bishop, KayLeigh-Ann Dunn, Noah Valach, and MaKaylah Bishop; and two sisters, Patty Butler and husband Donald of Lacy Springs, AL; JoAnn Webb and husband Alan of Princeton, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Keith Dunn, Daniel Bishop, Kaleb Dunn, Trey Valach, Noah Valach, and Jackie Rose.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm with Rev. Justin White and Rev. Jarod Dellinger officiating. A burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
