Richard Stevenson Miller Sr.

Richard Stevenson Miller Sr., 77, of Bluefield, VA, passed away on Tuesday December 20, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital after a long, hard fight. He is at peace and in Heaven.

Born on July 15, 1945 in Jenkinjones, WV, he was a son of the late Rudy and Dotty Dollinger Miller. He was a retired coal miner having worked 25 years for Consol Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elwood and Lloyd, 2 sisters, Eleanor and Edith, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

Richard loved his family. One of his many hobbies included playing pool. He made friends anywhere he went.

Left to cherish his life are his wife of 55 years, Veronica Parnell Miller; sons Richard S. Miller Jr. and Dwight P. Miller and wife Pat; daughter, Stephanie A. Miller and husband Chris; grandson Dakota Miller and wife Allison; granddaughters, Ashleigh McDongal and husband Jon, Savannah Miller, Taylor Miller, Tiffani Miller, Cory Miller, and Demi Lowe; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ferne Martin and husband Phil, Jane Jenkins, and Rita Scarberry; brothers, Barry Miller and wife Jane, Paul Miller and wife Sue, and Edward Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jimmy Sanson officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
