Richard Melvin Miller

Richard Melvin Miller, 75, of Charleston, WV, formerly of Welch, WV, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at his home.  Born October 24, 1946 in McDowell County, WV, he was a son of the late Hobart and Helen Bailey Miller. He was a Sexton at Marks Episcopal Church and after retirement worked with the homeless at Christ Kitchen. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Bailey, and grandson, Timothy Alan Miller.

Those left to cherish Richard’s memory are his children, Jenefer Crim of Savannah, GA, Melissa Fisher and husband, Kenneth, of Princeton, WV, and Richard Miller, Jr. of Lincolnton, NC; sister, Linda McDonald of Hinton, WV; companion of 35 years, Julie Miller; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Miller family.
