Richard Carlton Faulkner

Richard Carlton Faulkner, 69, of Floyd, VA, passed away on February 19, 2023 at Carilion New River Valley Hospital in Christiansburg, VA.

Born on July 6, 1953 in Welch, he was a son of the late Roy Thomas and Dorothy Louise Wilson Faulkner. He had been a resident of Floyd for 32 years and was a retired electrical contractor. He was of the southern Baptist faith and was a veteran of the US Army.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Faulkner, and siblings, Patricia, Paula, Sharon, Sheila Shelby, and Melda "Mousie".

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Lusk Faulkner; sons, Eric Faulkner of Harmony, NC, Kevin (Jessica) Faulkner of Floyd, VA, Travis (fiancé Rebekah Campbell) Faulkner of Meadows of Dan, VA; 2 grandchildren, Robert Hall and Jacob Faulkner; brothers, Robert (Carol) Faulkner of Floyd, VA and Danny (Veleda) Faulkner of Bluefield, WV; and a sister, Kathy (Jay) Sabo of Bramwell, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Eric, Kevin, Travis, and Jacob Faulkner, Robert Hall, and Gary Yopp will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
