William Lawrence Davis, Sr.

Rev. William Lawrence Davis, Sr., 94, of Rye Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on April 26, 1928 Petulama, CA, he was a son of the late Reginald C. and Gladys Moore Davis. He had lived in Nemours for 23 years and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Virginia Carolina High School and Clear Creek Bible College. He was pastor for many years serving several churches along with his wife. He loved gardening, farming and working with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Davis.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita (Joe) Dillon of Rocky Mount, VA; sons, William L. (Patty) Davis, Jr. of Woodlawn, VA, Philip Davis of Abbs Valley, VA, and Stanley (Donna) Davis of Tuscon, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Crouse, of Sparta, NC; a sister in law, Leta Davis of Scottsburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA with Rev. Joe Dillon and Rev. Bill Lykins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Marion, VA. Grandchildren and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Friday, From 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
