Randy Dale Jones

Randy Dale Jones, Sr., 67, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Gary, WV and Bluefield, WV, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC. Born May 20, 1954 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late George R. and Dorothy P. Burks Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings:  Jean Jones, Elizabeth "Libby" Farley, Dorothy "Sissy" Scarbro, Duke Jones, and twin sister Rhonda Lucion.  

Randy was a Non-denominational Christian. He worked for U.S. Steel from 1976 to 2010 when he retired. He worked at U.S. Steel #50 Coalmines I'm Pineville and was a member of the UMWA. Randy worked for the Gary Fire Department from 1979 to 2003 where he served as the Assistant Chief of Fire and Rescue. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR Races, and his beloved grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Randy’s memory are his wife of 44 years, Deborah Ann Cooper Jones of the home; daughter, Carroll Jones of Raleigh, NC; son, Randy (Angela) Jones, Jr. of Bluefield, WV; grandsons, Bryce Jones of Raleigh, NC, and Ricky Roark of Bluefield, WV; granddaughters, Jessa Jones, Christa Roark, and Rachel Roark, all of Bluefield, WV.   Siblings Sherry (Don) Vass of Richlands, VA and Bob (Brenda) Jones of Richlands, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where friends and family will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearer will be Bryce Jones.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Jones family.
