Randolph David Tilley

Randolph “Randy" David Tilley, 86, of Princeton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home. Randy was born at Maitland, WV on January 12, 1938 to the late Sidney A. and June Taylor Tilley.

After graduation from Bramwell High School he worked for Tom Warden’s Markets in Bluewell and Green Valley, WV.  Other jobs followed at Clover Dew Dairy and Kroger of Bluefield and Brushwork, WV.  He enjoyed meeting friends and new customers throughout his career. He married Elizabeth Culbertson on December 16, 1957.  They set up housekeeping in Green Valley, WV and were married for 64 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Tilley, and only child Charles David Tilley as well as two brothers, George (Arleta) Tilley, Sidney A. (Ruth) Tilley Jr., and younger sister Marilynne Tilley. 

Randy will be sadly missed by his brother Conley (Jeanie) Tilley of Russellville, TN and sister Nancy Tilley of Lake Worth, FL, and several nieces and nephews, Michael Tilley (Lisa) of Troutville, VA, Daniel Tilley (Candace) of Huntersville, NC, Greg Tilley (Jenny) of Lynchburg, VA, and Lou Ann Tilley West (Stephen) of Russellville, TN. Special friends who were just like family include Harold and Bridget Burton and their children, Reece and Heath, who were like honorary grandsons to Randolph. 

His life was marked by smiles, handshakes, hard work, dedication to family, helping others, and never seeing a stranger.

Funeral services will be conducted on 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. James Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
