Ralph Hunter Munsey Sr

Ralph Munsey Sr., 89, of Montcalm, West Virginia passed peacefully at his home with family by his side on January 14, 2022.

Ralph was born on September 8, 1932 in Mercer County to the late Walter Munsey Sr. and Helen Wallace Munsey. Ralph was a lifelong resident of Montcalm and worked alongside the Montcalm Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He was also the owner and operator of Munsey Mobile Home Park in Montcalm. He was also a member of the National Guard and of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his parents Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Munsey; a sister, Hazel Munsey; along with four brothers, Carl, Earnest, Cecil, and Herman Munsey.

Those left to cherish Ralph’s memories are his son, Ralph Munsey Jr. and girlfriend Amber of the home; brother, Walter Munsey Jr. of Beckley, WV; 2 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Chaplain C. T. Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Robert Havens III, (R.J.) Ralph Munsey III, Randy Stump, Timothy Cox, Kevin Hedges, Jimmy Shrewsberry, and James Hedges will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jeff Havens and Robert Havens Sr. The Munsey family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30 until the time of service on Tuesday.
