Phyllis Rose Shupe

Phyllis Rose Shupe, 81, of Bluewell, WV, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. Born October 7, 1945 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Hudgins. Phyllis was a child care provider at Wee Tots for 50+ years and was a member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Shupe; brothers, Tommy, Kenny and Jeff Hudgins; sisters, Judy Clowers and Myrtle Clowers; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Miles.

Those left to cherish Phyllis' memory are her children, Richard Shupe and wife, Melissa of Bluefield, WV, Tammy Bowling and husband, Jeff of Bluewell, WV, and Selina Hudgins of Bluewell, WV; brother, Johnny Hudgins and wife, Rebecca of Montcalm, WV; sister, Mary Smith and husband, Roosevelt of Montcalm, WV; mother-in-law, Ida Shupe of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Andrew Hudgins and wife, Shea, Richard Shupe Jr. and wife, Brittanie, Jerry Dillow and wife, Cassie, and Brandon Shupe and wife, Ashton; great-grandchildren, Danika Shupe, Savannah Dillow, Maci Dillow, Kolin Dillow, Greyson Hudgins, Kason Shupe, Brentlee Hudgins, Kaleb Shupe, Kendall Shupe, Kyle Shupe, and McKenzie Shupe.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Melissa White officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, she will be cremated following the service.
