Phyllis Irene Mabe

Phyllis Irene Mitchem Mabe, 90, of Montcalm, WV (Buttermilk Junction), passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at WVU Medicine Bluefield ER. Born June 2, 1933 in Mudfork, VA, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Elsie Asbury Mitchem. Phyllis was a member of Deliverance Temple Church and retired after 33 and a half years of service with Maidenform as a Clipper.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Milton Mabe; son-in-law, Angelo Delorso; and three sisters and two brothers.

Those left to cherish Phyllis’ memory are her daughter, Sandra Delorso of Montcalm, WV; sons, Johnny Ray Mabe and wife, Denise of Princeton, WV, Gary Mabe and wife, Drema of Montcalm, WV, and David Mabe and wife, Tina of North Wilkesboro, NC; brother, Wayne Mitchem of Delaware; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Deliverance Temple Church with Pastor David Kirby officiating. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church.
