Phyllis Ann Burchett

Phyllis A Burchett, 75, of Princeton, passed away, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at her Home (PHC) surrounded by her family.

Born December 11, 1948, in Bluefield. She was the daughter of the late Avon Manual and Blanche Gertude Repass Hurst. She lived most of her life in Mercer County. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved going to church and spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis was known for her kindness and encouragement to others, as well as being a mighty prayer warrior. 

In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Keith Burchett; and brothers, John D Hurst and Robert Avon Hurst, and one son, James Edward.

Survivors include her son, Richard Nicholson Sr.; daughters, Robin Horton and companion Greg O’Quinn, Melissa (C. David) White, Tammy (Daniel) Roark, Amy (Bennie) Akers, Beth (Derick) Flack, Martha (B. Franko) Higdon, Carey (Mike) Pendry; 26, grandchildren and 32, great-grandchildren.

The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Princeton Health Care for the amazing care and love provided to Phyllis while living at their home. Special Thanks to LPN Matthew Brookman who brought Phyllis great joy. They strongly encourage anyone interested in long-term care to seek out PHC and join their family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Melissa White and Byron Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Friends may call prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday.
