Patricia Gail Lightfoot

March 24, 1940 — August 10, 2021

Patricia Gail Crouch Lightfoot, 81, of Bluefield, WV emerged victorious in her courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital .

Patricia was born on Easter Sunday, March 24th, 1940 in Crumpler, WV. She was the 10th of 15 children born to the late Ashby Lee and Annie Young Crouch. Patricia was a 1958 graduate of Northfork High School. Upon graduation, she studied at McLains Business College in Bluefield, WV. She worked For Virginia Electric and Power until 1964, before pursuing her real passion, raising and caring for her family.   Patricia was also an avid follower of Cornerstone Family Church, even if it meant doing so virtually during recent years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Paul D. Lightfoot, brothers Ashby Lee Crouch Jr. (Bud), Frank Crouch, and Jerry Crouch. She was also preceded in death by three sisters Juanita Grubb, Mabel Shrader, and Mary Wimberly.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was humble, caring, patient and kind, but also strong and determined.  Patricia was an avid supporter of the Bluefield Beavers and West Virginia Mountaineers. Over the years, she had children and grandchildren participate in sports, band, and other activities at Bluefield High School and was always in support either in person, or in later years, sitting by the radio on those respective evenings. Patricia’s Saturdays were also typically spent listening to or watching the West Virginia Mountaineers football team. In her free time, she was in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking of which all who encountered were often awe struck by the exceptional quality of her food. Patricia was the epitome of selflessness, always putting others needs and desires ahead of her own.  She was adored by her family.  The example she set and the lessons she taught us will carry on for generations to come.   We take comfort in knowing her last breath here on earth took her into the arms of Jesus, that she is no longer in pain and is reunited with all who have gone before her.

She is survived by her four children: Mark Lightfoot of Bluefield, VA, Leighann Hines (Steve) of Powhatan, VA, Terri Lightfoot and Bill Lightfoot, both of Bluefield, WV. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Justin Lightfoot of Bluefield, WV, Logan Lightfoot of Mendota, VA, James Hines and Katie Ritz (David) both of Powhatan, VA and one great-grandchild Afton Ritz. Furthermore, she is survived by five sisters: Dorothy (Dot) Rabenold of Whitehall, PA, Minnie Crouch of Fort Myers, FL, Sandra Domaratzki (Lud) of Williamsburg, VA, Joetta Dotson (Freddie), and Sherry Miller both of Summerfield, FL. Finally, she is survived by three brothers: James Crouch of Falls City, NE, Bill Crouch of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Dennis Crouch of Roanoke VA. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated, and a service will be held on Friday August 13th, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. conducted by Pastor Scott Catron of Cornerstone Family Church, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America Inc., 9899 Main Street, Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872 or Cornerstone Family Church at 119 Brick Street Princeton, WV 24740.

The family would like to thank CAMC Cancer Center, the staff at Princeton Community Hospital, especially Dr. Yoginder Yadav and the nursing staff on 3 East, and Hospice Compassus for their outstanding care and compassion.
