On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Pam lost her battle with diabetes at her home in Marytown, WV.
Born on January 27, 1955, in Welch, WV, Pam graduated from Welch High School in 1974 before relocating to Massachusetts. She was a hardworking woman with a servant’s heart who loved to travel and help others.
Pam had a diverse career, but her true passion was working as a CNA, which eventually led to her owning her own home health care agency in Massachusetts. Her vehicles were always well-stocked with food, clothing, and basic necessities for anyone in need. She was also always ready to share a story or pass along a favorite recipe tucked away in her memory.
Because of her selflessness, her desire to create opportunities for others, and her bold personality, Pam exemplified independence and leadership. She leaves behind countless stories to be shared and lessons that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Pam was the daughter of the late Bill and Dorothy (Dingus) Johnson of Marytown, WV. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Catrell, Doug Johnson, Fred Johnson, and Howard Johnson; and two sisters, Ann Damron and her twin sister, Paula Caride.
She is survived and lovingly honored by her daughter, Tiffany Johnson, and granddaughter, Isailah Stuebs, of the home; her special daughter, Sara McCurda, and granddaughter, Alaysha Gomez, of Massachusetts; three brothers, Robert Johnson of Knightdale, NC, Wayne (Estella) Johnson of Rocky Mount, VA, and Randy Johnson of Bluewell, WV; and four sisters, Sue (Alberto) Medellin of Canton, MI, Mary (Bob) Riffe of Bluewell, WV, and Sandy Hall and Phyllis (Larry) Perkins, both of Hensley, WV.
She is also survived by three special children whom she helped raise alongside her twin sister and loved as her own: Heather Caride of Chicopee, MA, Richard Caride of Chicopee, MA, and Kevin Caride of Marytown, WV. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, several foster children who brought her great joy throughout the years, and her devoted and deeply appreciated caregiver, Karen Collins of Davy, WV.
Services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
