Mildred Louise Burkhart

Mildred Louise Burkhart passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 from a long illness. Born in Tazewell, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Sylvester and Maudie Marie Dillow Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Burkhart; sister, Betty J. Hannah; and brother, Cecil Doughton. Louise retired from the City of Bluefield after 24 years of service with the parking commission. Louise and her husband, Claude ran King Tut Drive-In for years.

She is survived by brothers, Ricky Doughton, and Billy and Kathy Doughton; two nieces, Sharon Lunsford and Karen Mooney; nephew, David Brooks and wife Ella; great-nephew, Nicholas Lunsford and great-niece, Brianna Lunsford; several other great-nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Minister Rick Mathena officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where friends and family will serve at pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Burkhart family.
