Marvin Eugene Miller, 83, of Elbert, WV went to be with the Lord April 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Born February 17, 1938 in Mohegan, WV, he was the son of the late James Miller and Dolly Blankenship Miller. He was a retired coal miner working for US Steel #9 and #50 mines, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed his antique cars.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Peggy Myers Miller; sons, William Miller (Shawna) of Thomasville, NC, and Mark Miller (Gail) of Lerona, WV; daughters, Tracy Phillips (Jackie) of Princeton, WV, and Dara Hughes (David) of Elbert, WV; brothers, Bob Miller and companion Paula of Darlington, MD, Freddie Miller (Rene) of Flint, MI, Jimmy Miller (Carol) of Premier, WV, and David Miller of Princeton, WV; sister, Irene Balder of Lyndonville, NY, and a bonus sister, Jeannie Tickle of Thorpe, WV; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with President Edward Laxton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amedisys Hospice, 5435 Airport Rd., Suite 201, Bluefield, WV 24701.
