Marvin Darrell Epperson, 56, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 with his family by his side. Born in Bluefield, WV, he was a member of the Bluefield High School class of 1989. Marvin went on to attend SouthWest Community College in Cedar Bluff, VA and earned his masters in welding, in which he excelled at throughout his career. Besides welding, throughout his career he also worked driving coal trucks, an underground coal miner, and a mechanic. Marvin was an avid deer hunter, specifically bowhunting. Some of his best memories were deer hunting with his mom, dad, son, and uncle Bob. He was a loving son to his late parents Fount and Paulette, they shared a very close bond together, he was a proud father and best friend to his son Zack, loving pawpaw to his grandson Briar, loving brother to his sister Lisa, and a devoted husband to his wife of 14 years, Melissa. He always put his family first before himself. Marvin never met a stranger and had the ability to make friends with people from all walks of life. Marvin recently gave his life to Jesus Christ and was also baptized.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Melissa Epperson, son Zack Epperson and fiance McKenna Wrobel, grandson Briar Epperson, sister Lisa Epperson, and cousins Diana Epperson Tyree, Steve Edwards, Greg Aust, Joey Edwards, special friends Michael and Kym Ray, and his beloved dog PupPup. He is proceeded in death by his father Fount Epperson, his mother Paulette Epperson, brother Gary Epperson, and uncle Bob Edwards.

Though he is gone, the kindness, laughter, and love he shared with the world will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated.

Service will be at CravenShires in Bluewell, WV on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Family will arrive at 4:30 PM, friends may arrive 5:00-7:00 and the funeral will be at 7:00 PM.

In keeping with Marvin's wishes, he will be cremated and ashes spread in his favorite places that held special memories to him, Gary Mountain in McDowell County and the family's property in Pipestem, WV.
