Maria Ann LaVake-Ellis

Maria Ann LaVake-Ellis, 26, of Montcalm, WV, passed away Thursday, July 14^th, 2022. She was born to Tonya Watkins, of Brushfork, and James LaVake, of Montcalm, on January 29^th, 1996, in Bluefield, WV. She is remembered by her family and friends as a very compassionate, hardworking, mother, who was adored by her family. She was full of life; enjoyed going to the river, spending time with friends, and always had a smile on her face.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert Ellis, of Rock, and children: Bryan Ellis, Alaina Ellis, Cheyenne Ellis, Navaeh Ellis, and Emma Ellis. Her grandparents, Dianna and Eric Baker, of Montcalm, Sandra and John Robert Hurley, of Brushfork; her siblings: Jacob Hurley, of Bramwell, Joshua Sarver, of North Carolina, and Paul Watkins, of Bramwell. Her aunts and uncles: Wanda Weese and former spouse, Joe Weese, of Princeton, Charlotte Sands and former spouse, Joey Sands, of Montcalm, Eric Wayne Baker, of Green Valley, and Brittany and Ritchie Hylton, of Brushfork. Her cousins: Austin and Megan LaVake, of Bluefield, Brandon Sands, of Princeton, Donald Weese, of Montcalm, Zoey Sands, of Montcalm, and James Weese, of Princeton; and her mother-in-law, Edna Ellis, of Mayberry.

Maria was proceeded in death by her paternal grandfather, James LaVake Sr, and her father-in-law, Ike Ellis.

Funeral services will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21^st, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Glen Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Joe Weese, Austin LaVake, Donald Weese, Garrett Cook, Joshua Sarver, Brandon Sands, and Alaina Ellis will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
