Margaret Edith Wimmer Underwood

Margaret Edith Wimmer Underwood, 88, of Bluefield WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Carson City, NV.

Margaret was born in Bluefield, WV on May 9, 1933. She was the daughter of Verlie and Mary Carter Wimmer.   Margaret had a passion for gardening and canning, and a love for her many nieces and nephews and the myriad of dogs who graced her life.   Until her battle with dementia, she attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Bluefield.  In addition to her husband Roy Sherman Underwood and her parents, she is preceded in death by 7 siblings; Mason Wimmer, Marvin Wimmer, Marie Wimmer Hale, Myrtle Wimmer, O’Donell, Richard Wimmer, Robert Wimmer and Ronald Wimmer. 

Margaret is survived by her daughter Lisa Underwood and partner James Fisher of Carson City, NV; sister Marian Wimmer Bailey of Bluefield, brother Roger Wimmer of Peterstown and many beloved nieces and nephews as well as her loyal dog PB.

Funeral services will be held for Margaret 11:00 Monday, August 16, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with Sister Verna Seager and Brother Chalmer Morgan officiating the service. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield, WV where Gary Hale, Justin Duncan, Joe Hale, Donnie Bailey, Kelly Duncan and Brian Aliff will be serving as pallbearers.
