Linda Kay (Katie) Hubbard

Linda Kay (Katie) Hager Hubbard, 71, of Glenwood/Princeton, WV passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at home surrounded by her family and friends. Katie was born September 9, 1951 in Glenwood, WV to the late Carl and Gladys Hager. Katie attended and graduated from Princeton High School. She graduated on June 12, 1969 and two days later, June 14, 1969, she married the love of her life, Dallas Hubbard. Katie was a homemaker and loved being able to stay at home to raise her children and take care of her family. In the late 1980’s, she decided she wanted to pursue something different and she obtained her drivers license and set out to get her nursing license also. She completed her studies and graduated in the top 5% of her class. After getting her nursing license, she worked several jobs but the one she loved the most was working for Dr. William Prudich in Montcalm, WV. She had also worked for Glenwood Retirement Home, OH-9 Home Health and the Virginia D.O.C. at Bland Correctional until she had to do early retirement due to battling cancer in 2001.

Katie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bluefield Chapter No. 66 in Bluefield, WV. She was also a member of the Montcalm Community Christmas Tree for over 20 years. And the Vietnam Veterans Chapter No. 628 in Princeton, WV.

Katie was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dallas D. Hubbard, Jr. and her parents, Carl and Gladys Hager, sister, Judy Wright, brother, Wayne Hager and wife, Kathy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dallas (Dude) Hubbard and his wife, Tonya who Katie considered another daughter, daughter, Trina Hubbard, all of Glenwood, WV; brother Robert Hager and wife, Connie of Fowlerville, MI; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hubbard of Sebastian, FL; sister-in-law, Sandra Crotts and husband, Tom of Princeton, WV; granddaughter, Amanda Frischholtz and husband, Philip of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her great-grandchildren, Camden and Charleigh Frischholtz.

The Hubbard family wishes to give special thanks to the ladies that cared for Katie and loved her like their own momma: Brenda Neal-Gillespie, Mary Harman, Kelsey Gillespie and Jenna Sustaric.

Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2023 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor David and Margaret Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Hubbard family.
