In Loving Memory of Linda Diane Gaminde

Linda Diane Gaminde, 70, a lifelong resident of McDowell County, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Born on September 10, 1956, Linda was the daughter of the late Clarence Dunn and Reba Dunn, and her mother, the late Martha Dunn, all of McDowell County, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Virginia B. Gaminde, and her sister, Sophie McCoy of Statesville, North Carolina. Linda was known for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and the endless love she had for her family. She loved fiercely, was always protective of those closest to her, and spent her life making sure everyone she loved was taken care of. Her family was truly her whole world. Linda shared a wonderful marriage with her husband, Stephen G. Gaminde. Together, they built a life filled with memories, love, and family. Through life’s ups and downs, they shared many years together, and the family they built will always be a part of her legacy. Linda worked as a nurse for many years and took great pride in caring for her patients. She had a natural gift for helping others and was known for treating everyone with kindness and compassion. She also loved to cook and was known for her many family-favorite recipes. Some of the happiest memories her family will carry are the simple moments spent together, enjoying her cooking, sharing stories, and laughing. More than anything, Linda loved being a wife, mother, and “Mamaw.” Her husband, children, and grandchildren meant everything to her, and she never missed an opportunity to show them how much they were loved.

Linda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Stephen G. Gaminde; her children, Georgeanna Gaminde of Princeton, West Virginia, Virginia “Ginny” Dawson and her cherished son-in-law, Shawn Dawson, of Abbs Valley, Virginia, and Clarence Gaminde of Parkersburg, West Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Blake Gaminde of Chesterfield, Virginia, Talia Diane Brooks and her beloved grandson-in-law, Brenten Brooks, of Abbs Valley, Virginia, Ethan Gaminde of Princeton, West Virginia, and Andrew Dawson of Abbs Valley, Virginia. Linda also adored her granddogs, Oscar, Benji, Otto, and Ralphie, who held a special place in her heart. Linda will always be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely. While her family will miss her more than words can express, they will carry her memory with them in the stories they share and the love they continue to give one another. Her greatest joy was her family, and her greatest legacy will always be the love she left behind.
