Leona Ruth King, 60, of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at Mercer Nursing. She was born on July 27, 1965, in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Leona was the beloved daughter of the late Leon and Carolyn King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Samuel and Thelma Osborne; her paternal grandparents, James and Evelyn King; and her special friend, Jody Armstrong.

She is survived by her loving brother, Sammy King and his wife, Angie, of Boissevain, Virginia; her sisters by heart, Brandy Goins and Lakisha Hayes; her special friends, Curt Armstrong, Becky Bowman, Chloe Mitchell, and Rachel Mitchell; and many dear cousins who loved her deeply and will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Leona found great joy in spending time with her family and participating in activities at Mercer Nursing. She especially enjoyed painting, making bracelets, playing bingo, and watching wrestling.

Leona will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her presence was a comfort, her voice a reassurance, and her love a lasting gift to all who knew her.

Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Leona will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the Chapel of Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Chaplain Jerry Lester officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
