Larry Wayne Mitchem

Larry Wayne Mitchem, 76, of Heather Street, Falls Mills, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. Born on May 22, 1949 in Yards, VA, he was a son of the late Nelson and Margaret Bowman Mitchem. Larry was a member of Falls Mills United Methodist Church and was a truck driver/salesman for United Hydraulics in Rich Creek, VA, from where he retired from. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Mitchem.

Those left to cherish Larry's memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Ward Mitchem; son, Brandon Mitchem and wife, Rebecca of Falls Mills, VA; daughter, Beth Mallory and husband, Mike of Princeton, WV; sister, Brenda Matthews and husband, Ronnie of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren, Megan Mallory and fiance, Trevor Mabe, Logan Mallory and companion, Makayla Salem, Collin Mitchem, and Harper Mitchem.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Asbury, Rev. Larry Ramey, and speaker Mike Mallory officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Logan Mallory, Collin Mitchem, Trevor Mabe, Alex Kelly, Donnie Anderson, and Troy Anderson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Henegar and Ronnie Matthews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
