Larry Dewayne Burks, 60, of Bluefield, WV, formerly of Kimball, WV passed away on April 15th at Roanoke Memorial Hospital from a brain aneurysm.

Born on August 12, 1965, in Welch, WV, Larry was the son of the late Felix and Mary Burks. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Homer Burks and sister, Lucille Burks-Green.

Larry was a longtime employee at Bluestone Coal Corporation.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 35 years, Ellen Fagio Burks; Brothers, Cecil (Betty) Burks of Keystone, WV, Kermit (Kay) Burks of Keystone, WV, Thomas (Barbara) Burks of Huddleston, VA, Randall (Carolyn) Burks of Huddleston, VA, Tommy (Ana) Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joe Smith of NC; sister, Mary Ann Green of Roanoke, VA; and biological father, Bill Mitchell of Wentworth, NC.

Those most dear to his heart was his travel buddy, Jeannie and buddy, Steve Justice of Bluefield, WV, Felix "Peanut" Burks of Princeton, WV, Warren Lambert of Athens, WV, Buddy “Slow Poke" Lambert of Keystone, WV, Nephew, Brian Fagio of Hixson, TN who he thought of as a son and Brians daughter, Caroline Grace Fagio that had his heart wrapped around her little finger; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers.

Larry loved to hunt, ride his ATV’s, and just hang out at home with his family. Everyone that had the opportunity to meet Larry was left with a lasting memory. Larry was the light of so many peoples lives. He will be forever be missed by us all.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 22nd at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Debbie Cyphers officiating. Burial to follow at Burks Family Cemetery on Burke Mountain in Keystone, WV.

The family will receive friends from 6pm- 8pm Tuesday April 21st. at the funeral home.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Burks family.
