Lacie Thelma Buchanan

Lacie Thelma Marchant Buchanan, 99, of Bluefield, VA passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at Westwood Center in Bluefield, VA. Born June 13, 1923, in Marion, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Boyd and Sarah Winebarger Marchant. Lace was a dedicated homemaker and of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrouse Buchanan, 2 sons, Samuel and Danny Buchanan, daughter, Sally Lawson, grandson, Samuel Buchanan, Jr., and siblings, Adam Marchant, Stella Stevens, Margaret Dale, Freelove Patrick, Blanch Bange, Dave Marchant, and William Marchant.

She is survived by her daughter, Rose Buchanan; daughter-in-law’s, Connie Buchanan and Melissa Buchanan; son-in-law, Timothy Lawson; grandchildren, Vicky Meredith, Mark Lawson, Sarah Lawson, James Lawson, Michelle Hanna, and Kristie and Justin Smith; 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Emory Marchant officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call prior to services on Tuesday, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
