Kevin Wayne Mabe

Kevin Wayne Mabe, 58, of Rock, WV, departed the world to be with his Heavenly father on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and love.

Wayne was born on September 29, 1963 in Bluefield, WV to the late Charles William and Anna Alberta Mabe. He has an associate’s degree in civil engineering and surveying from SWVCC. He worked as a general contractor for many years and then became a bus driver for Mercer County Schools. He loved driving a bus and loved his co-workers. Wayne loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved to travel and see new places. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. He always made everyone laugh by telling jokes and stories.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law, Walter Dishner; brother, Jody Campbell and a sister, Christe Szakacs.  

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Joyce “Chris” Mabe of the home; mother in law, Billie Jean Dishner of Morristown, TN, sisters, Maria (Cecil) Tabor of East Bend, NC, and Jennifer (Tommy) Collins of Pembroke, VA, brother in law, Ernie Szakacs of Bluefield, VA, sisters in law, Karen Campbell of Ronceverte, WV, Terri (Dick) Dickus of Hebron, IN, and Jeannie (Jerry) Henricks of Russellville, TN,; daughters, Alexis (RJ) Munsey of Rock, WV, Kelly (Eric) Lester of Princeton, WV, Christy (Rob) Alexander of Rock, WV, and Tiffany Bennett of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Nathan (Breanna) Bennett, Allyson (Dakota) Collins, Evan Bennett, Hannah Alexander (Justin Gore), Olivia Alexander, Megan Lester, Peyton Lester, Gracelyn Munsey, Connor Munsey, Soon to be Walker Munsey, Huksly Bennett, Keygun Bennet, Brylee Gore, Lynleigh Gore, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the MapleView Church of Christ with Rev. Mac Riggins officiating.

Friends may call prior to services on Saturday, from 11:00-1:00 at the church.
