Kenneth Ray Hager

Kenneth Ray Hager, Sr., 75, of E. Cumberland Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on May 24, 1947, he was a son of the late Robert Hager and Bertie Carrier Mitchell. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a member of the Bluefield Eagles and Elks. He was a former Bluefield Beaver football player.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Owens Hager of the home; 2 sons, Kenneth R. Hager, Jr. of Bluefield, WV, and Michael R. Hager of Arizona; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and cousins Brenda Hager and Dora Shrader.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Bishop Michael York officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Michael Anthony Hager, Ronnie Mills, Billie Alexander, Calvin Smith, Scotty Shrewsbury, Eugene Pendleton, Mark Taylor, Danny Sumpter, and Garfield White will serve as pallbearers. Aubrey, Bill, Bob, Bobby, Charlie, Jay, Johnny, Fred, Keith, earl, Mike, Scotty, Perry, Victor and Sam will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends may call on Monday prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
