Kathy Morgan

Kathy Jean Lambert Morgan, 64 of Anawalt, WV passed away July, 14 2026 at Bluestone Nursing Home in Bluefield, WV. Kathy was born July 16, 1961 in Welch, WV to Isaac and Dorothy Lambert. She was married to her first husband David H. Thorn for 17 years until his passing on January 3, 1995. She married Richard Morgan in October of 1997 until his passing on March 28, 2026. They were married for 28 years. Kathy worked as a service worker throughout her life within the school system and at Stevens Correctional Center in the kitchen and laundry and while employed at St. Luke’s Medical Center. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had attended Trinity Temple in Welch, WV. Kathy was known for her love of God, family and her beloved pets. She had a wonderful sense of humor and generosity of spirit. Though Kathy had no children of her own, she was like a second mother to many of her nephews and nieces and held a special love in her heart for children. Kathy loved her poodles Midnight and Brandy and her Chihuahuas Chester, Didi and Bella.

Kathy is survived by her siblings Emily Martin, Connie Moore, Tommy Lambert and his wife Vickie, Joey Lambert and his wife Marsha. She had many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Isaac an Dorothy Lambert and beloved Uncle John “Sam” Rose, her brothers Darrell, David, Simon, Isaac, Larry “Jimmy” and sisters Janice Lambert, Martha Lambert, Ruth Mitchem and Brenda “Gail” Green.

Visitation will be Friday July 17, 2026 At Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV between 10-11 am with family gathering at 9:30 am. Funeral services will follow from 11 am-12 pm with Pastor Dan Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery on Coal Heritage Rd. in Bluewell, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
