Karen Kay White

December 27, 1943 — May 11, 2021

Karen Kay White, 77, of Bluewell, earned her heavenly wings on May 11, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born December 27, 1943 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Ann Duncan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy White. She had been employed by Lynn’s Drive Inn and had retired from Kroger. One of the things she was so proud of which took her 12 years to complete was making a Christmas quilt that was composed of a piece of fabric from grandparents’ items or a loved one for her nieces and nephews.  Kay had been a faithful lifetime member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church where she had served as youth leader and president of the United Methodist Women. She also held offices for the Southern District and West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Bettie Bowles of Bluefield, WV, Barbara Mitchem of Princeton, WV; brother, Douglas Duncan of Occee, FL; and her sister-in-law, Terri and Bill Wallace of Goldsboro, NC. She was loved so very much by her nieces and nephews, Melinda Mitchem and Jason Criss of Princeton, WV, Doranna Mitchem of Loganville, GA, Marianna Love and Curtis of FL, Bill Stowers and Deb of Roanoke, and Paul Duncan and Heather of Occee, FL. Kay was also loved by her great-nieces and nephews, Adrianna Mitchem, Matthew Mitchem, Kaylee Tibble, Jessica Tibble, Tiffany Tibble, Lexi Jackson, Jeremy and Celeste, Clayton and Caroline, Brooke, Nicholas, Johnathan, Brandon and Daniel, Jessica, Eli and Jaxon, and Brad.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Bluewell United Methodist Church with Rev. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.
