Karen Kerri Poe

July 10, 1962-July 23, 2025

Our light is dimmer, our laughs are quieter, and our hearts are heavy at the passing of Kerri Poe. Kerri went home to her parents and puppies on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Her journey here on earth ended at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC after a courageous battle against cancer. Kerri was a lifetime resident of Mercer County.

She will be with those gone before her: Her parents Richard Poe and Glenna Martin Poe, Brother Mark Poe, and sister Kathy Poe. Surviving family members: Spouse, Rhonda Goode, Brothers Charles Poe (Linda) and Michael Poe (Patty). Sister, Sherri Poe and 2 nephews, 1 niece. Kerri worked as a licensed phlebotomist at BRMC for over 30 years and was finishing her career with LabCorp. She lived her "dash" making memories with all those who she held dear.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 31 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Visitation 5-630pm with the Service beginning at 630. The eulogy will be delivered by Skip Crane, a close friend. Supported in "life and death" are her honorary pallbearers: Pam Lucado, Shannon Honaker, Natalie and Michael Fanning, Katie and Allen Tibbs, Amy and Michael Lane.

The family asks in lieu of flowers to make a contribution in Kerri's name to either the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or the Mercer County Animal Shelter at 961 Shelter Rd, Princeton, WV 24739.
