Juliet "Judy" Rose Nelson

Juliet Rose “Judy” Nelson, 78, of Timberwood Lane, Bluefield, WV and formerly of Montcalm, passed away on May 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 29, 1945 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Nindo and Ethel Hall Punturi. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Ann Mullins, Rita Gail Mullins; and brothers, Billy Ray Punturi and Nindo Punturi, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, John D. Nelson of the home; a son, Johnny D. (Kimberly) Nelson, Jr. of Princeton; daughter, Melissa Rovnak of Bluefield, WV, 6 grandchildren, Ryan (Ashleigh) Nelson, Hannah Nelson, Ethan Nelson, Kristin Michelle (Mark) Collare, Joshua David Pruitt and Logan Matthew Pruitt; and 3 great grandchildren, Ariel Makayla Jacobs and Sophia Lee McColl and one on the way; brothers Danny (Carol) Punturi of Bluefield, Brian (Bonnie) Punturi of Martinsville, WV, Johnny Punturi of Bluefield ,WV, and Robert Punturi of Winston-Salem, NC; and two sisters, Joan Iris (Allen) White of Bluefield, WV and Carol Racine Punturi Perry.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Shawn Lilly, Shane Vaughan, David White, Allen White, Justin Perry and Eugene Penland will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Tuesday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
