Judy Marie Johnson, a cherished homemaker and loving wife, passed away peacefully at her home on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on January 18, 1948, Judy touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind and welcoming nature allowed her to create a home that was not just a dwelling but a sanctuary, where all felt embraced and valued.
Judy was a proud matriarch, dedicated to raising her family and nurturing precious relationships. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Roger Johnson, along with her loving children: Angela Taylor and her husband Stan, Randall Johnson and his wife Michelle, Ricky Johnson and his wife Missi. She also leaves behind two people who she raised and loved as her own: Tim Belcher and his wife Jodie, and Sheri Alderman and her husband Larry. Her legacy of love continues through her eight adoring grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild who is on the way, as well as a slew of nieces and nephews who will carry forward the spirit of joy and kindness that she instilled in them.
Active and loved in her community, Judy was an engaged member of the Church of God, where she found fulfillment among her peers, contributing to the warmth and fellowship that made the congregation so special. She brought her vibrant personality to every interaction, always making others feel welcomed and appreciated.
Judy's passing leaves profound sorrow amongst her family and friends, especially as she is now reunited with those who have departed before her, including her son Roger Johnson Jr., and her brothers Edward, Bobby, Nick, Sonny, Buddy, and Jack Belcher, alongside her sister Gail Albrecht and sister Barbara George. They were a significant part of her life, and their memories will forever be woven into the fabric of her family's stories.
The family invites all those who cared for Judy to join them in celebrating her life and the legacy of love she created. Visitation will be held on August 7, 2025, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes in Bluefield, WV from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM with Rev. Mac Riggins officiating. Service will be followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM with her burial after at the church cemetery on Burk Mountain. Pallbearers honoring Judy's memory will be Nicholas Graham, Aydan Graham, Mike Belcher, Michael Lane, Randall Johnson, and Rodney Johnson.
