Joyce Pritt

Joyce Pritt, 91 of Sinks Grove, WV (Pickaway) passed away peacefully at her home following a long illness May 23, 2026. Born in Sinks Grove, WV on June 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Paul Gray and Etta Bostic Vance. After graduating from Union High School Joyce attended Concord College and Radford University earning a Master’s Degree in Education. Joyce was employed as a full time and substitute teacher in Monroe County for 61 years. Following her retirement as a full-time teacher Joyce would be elected to the Monroe County Commission serving one term from 2005-2010. Joyce was a lifelong member of the New Lebanon Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Sinks Grove.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Pritt.

Joyce is survived by her only child Terry G.Pritt of Baltimore, MD; sister-n-law, Barbara Vance of Winchester, VA; and an extended family of nieces and nephews that were caregivers the past few years.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at New Lebanon Cemetery located at 5543 Seneca Trail N. Sinks Grove, WV.
