Joseph Arthur Brewster

December 6, 1965 — September 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Arthur Brewster, known fondly to many as Joe. He was born on December 6, 1965, in Hialeah, Florida, and departed this world far too soon on September 21, 2025, in Princeton, West Virginia, surrounded by loved ones. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a beloved grandfather who carried an infectious sense of humor and a great love for life.

He held his family close to his heart, always cherishing the moments spent together, whether they were taking in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing or simply sharing laughter around the dinner table. His love for his wife, Michele, was fierce and unwavering, encapsulating the essence of a partnership built on mutual love, affection, and respect.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Brewster; his children, Joe Brewster Jr and his wife Whitney Brewster, Sara Beth Stafford and her husband Joey Stafford, John Brewster and his fiancee Kasey Lowery, and Jake Lafritz and his wife Kristin Lafritz. Joe was also a proud grandfather to Everleigh Brewster, Lilly Frost, Braxton Green, Isabella Green, Remington Lafritz, Maleigha Lafritz, and great-granddaughter Adelynn Frost. The joy that these grandchildren brought to his life was immeasurable, and he often spoke of them with pride and admiration.

Among his surviving family members, Joe is remembered by his brother, James "Jim" Brewster Jr. and his wife Annette Brewster; his sister, Jennifer "Sissie" Brewster and her husband Jonathan Wood; cousin and good friend Roger "Allen" Brewster. Along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Brewster, and his mother, Mary Brewster, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.

Joe's memory will be honored with a visitation at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia, on September 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is at this time that friends and family will gather to reflect on a life well-lived and to celebrate the indelible mark Joe has left on all those who knew him.

As we remember Joseph Arthur Brewster, we are reminded that his laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will forever resonate in our hearts. He will be missed profoundly, but his spirit will live on in the memories we share and the stories we will continue to tell.
